Katie Drees, LPC

Katie Drees is originally from South Carolina, but moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2007 to earn her graduate degree in counseling. Following school, she worked with FWISD in elementary behavior classrooms teaching social skills, developing and implementing behavior plans while also providing parent training. During her time in the DFW area she also provided counseling to children, adolescents and their families at a private counseling center. Katie journeyed to The Woodlands several years later to do applied behavior analysis therapy for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, special needs or other behavior disorders.  She also provided counseling services to children and families.

Katie says, “Working with children has always been my passion and the special needs community has a special place in my heart. While my family is in South Carolina, I travel there often and love spending time with them. I enjoy doing all things outdoors with my dog Humphrey, binge watching tv, eating good food and spending time with the people I love.”

Lovina Bater, Ph. D.

Dr. Bater is originally from upstate New York but received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. She received her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Dr. Bater completed her pre-doctoral internship at Casa Pacifica Center for Children and Families in Camarillo, California and her post-doctoral residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Bater then moved to Austin, Texas to work as a Pediatric Psychologist in the new Integrated Behavioral Health program with Austin Health Partners.

Outside of the office, Dr. Bater enjoys hiking and swimming with her dog, Chloe, as well as participating in yoga and exercise classes, dancing, sports (especially baseball and hockey), watching television, and eating new foods. She has a special interest in childhood behavior disorders, trauma and stressor-related difficulties, parenting practices, and Selective Mutism.
